Submerged arc welding wire and flux welding method

Feb 01, 2019

High weld quality The weld pool protection is perfect, and the weld metal has less impurities. As long as the welding process is properly selected, it is easy to obtain stable and high quality welds.

(3) Good working conditions In addition to reducing the labor intensity of manual operation, the arc arc is buried under the flux layer, there is no arc radiation, and the working conditions are good. Submerged arc welding wire and flux are still the most commonly used welding methods in industrial production. Suitable for welding large batches, thicker and longer straight lines and larger diameter annular welds. Widely used in the manufacture of metal structures such as chemical containers, boilers, shipbuilding, and bridges.

This method also has shortcomings. If it is not as flexible as manual welding, it is generally only suitable for welds with small horizontal position or low inclination; the workpiece edge preparation and assembly quality requirements are high and labor-intensive; because it is submerged arc operation, it cannot be seen. To the weld pool and weld formation process, therefore, the weld specification must be strictly controlled. Submerged arc semi-automatic welding is mainly automatic hose welding, which is characterized by the use of a relatively thin diameter (2 mm or less) welding wire, which is fed into the molten pool through a curved hose. The movement of the arc is done by hand, and the feeding of the wire is automatic. Semi-automatic welding can replace some of the curved and shorter welds in automatic welding, mainly for fillet welds and butt welds.
